A reproduction of the German Dextro Energen packaging – dextrose (glucose) energy tablets, commonly available in both civilian and military supply chains during the 1930s and 1940s. The red design and “6 Täfelchen” (6 tablets) label match the original wartime-era product.
Dextrose tablets provided a quick source of energy during fatigue, physical strain, or weakness. They were sold on the civilian market, but also distributed in rear military units – particularly among drivers, medics, signal troops, and officers during long shifts. Ready to use without any preparation, they served as an effective emergency supplement.
Each tablet contained pure grape sugar (glucose), which is rapidly absorbed by the body. Even today, dextrose is used in sports nutrition and for treating hypoglycemia. This reproduction is an ideal addition to reenactor personal gear, historical displays, or as an authentic prop for period films.
