A faithful reproduction of classic white taper candles from the brand Riebeck Kerzen, based on original German packaging used in both civilian and military contexts during the 1930s–1940s. The black background and Gothic-style lettering reflect the authentic visual language of the period.
Candles were a practical and necessary light source during the Second World War, especially in field conditions — in dugouts, barracks, makeshift kitchens, or during night duties and letter writing. Though not standard-issue equipment, candles were often available in rear-area supplies or received in comfort parcels from home, providing a simple, reliable source of light without the need for electricity.
Brands like Riebeck also produced for the civilian market. Their candles appeared in military and administrative depots, rail transport stockpiles, and homefront shipments. White candles were universal — used for lighting, warmth, or even emergency fire starting. A perfect addition to reenactor displays, period exhibitions, or historical film sets.
