Replica of traditional military footwraps—known as Fußlappen—which were used in place of socks by German soldiers during the Second World War. These simple rectangular cloths were wrapped tightly around the foot and ankle before putting on boots.
Footwraps were especially common when socks were in short supply, or during long deployments where quick-drying and reusable alternatives were essential. They could be easily washed, dried, and reused under field conditions.
Proper wrapping required practice—poorly applied Fußlappen could lead to blisters or discomfort. Soldiers were trained to fold and wrap them correctly to avoid creases and ensure they stayed in place during long marches.
These reproductions are made from white flannel, closely matching the original look and function. A simple but historically accurate piece of kit, ideal for reenactors, museum displays, or as a background detail in film or photo productions.
