Reproduction of original German WWII medic tags (Begleitzettel) used to identify wounded and sick soldiers and facilitate their treatment and transport between the field, dressing stations, and hospitals. These cards played a vital role in frontline medical logistics and casualty management.
Each color-coded tag helped medical personnel quickly classify the condition of the soldier:
Red border – Verwundete (Wounded)
- 2 stripes = Nichttransportfähig – severely wounded, unfit for transport
- 1 stripe = Transportfähig – minor wounds, suitable for evacuation
- no stripe = Marschfähig – slightly injured, able to walk unassisted
Yellow / Green border – Kranke (Sick)
- Yellow = Transportfähig – infectious, needs evacuation
- Green = Transportfähig – non-infectious, needs evacuation
- no stripe = Marschfähig – non-infectious, able to march
Black border – Entlauste (Deloused)
- Used to confirm that a soldier had undergone delousing procedures – essential before being moved into a hospital or rejoining the unit.
Each tag includes fields for the soldier's name, unit, diagnosis, date, and physician’s signature. These tags were used in infirmaries, field hospitals, and even carried in medics’ personal kits.
An essential component for any reenactment medical display, field scenario, or educational presentation on wartime medical care.
