Reproduction of a pocket-sized photo album used by Wehrmacht soldiers during World War II to store personal photographs. This specific design is based on the Foto-Dienst Schwittay studio in Oppeln (now Opole), reflecting the civilian photo services accessed by soldiers during the war.
The album contains 8 sheets (16 pages), suitable for up to 16 photographs in 6×9 cm or 6×6 cm format. When used with photo corners, images could be added and removed without damage – making this album ideal even for storing original wartime photos.
Photography was one of the most common personal hobbies among German troops. Soldiers carried private cameras (e.g., Leica, Zeiss Ikon), mailed their film rolls to development services, and placed the returned prints into large personal albums or small, portable versions like this one – often kept in their breadbag or field pack.
Available variants:
- For photo corners – blank pages suitable for use with photo mounts (no corners included)
- With pre-cut corners – with slits for inserting 16 photographs directly
A historically accurate and practical accessory for reenactment kits, display cases, or for storing vintage photo originals.
