Reproduction of Kristall-Süßstoff saccharin packaging, a synthetic sweetener widely used during World War II by Wehrmacht soldiers and civilians alike. Due to strict rationing and the scarcity of sugar, saccharin became a key part of daily rations, particularly in field kitchens, soldier kits, and care packages from home.
1.25 g pack
- According to the original instructions, the sachet's contents were dissolved in half a liter of warm water. One teaspoon of the solution equaled three sugar cubes, replacing the sweetness of approximately 550 g of sugar.
10 g Heeres-Packung (Army Pack)
- Designed for bulk use in field kitchens, this quantity was sufficient to sweeten up to 100 liters of beverages, replacing 4–5 kg of sugar.
100 tablets box
- Contained 100 saccharin tablets, each replacing about 1.5 sugar cubes. This format was convenient for soldiers to sweeten coffee or tea in the field. Modern sweetener tablets can be inserted for reenactment purposes.
Perfect for WWII reenactments, soldier’s kits, camp life reconstructions, exhibitions, or field kitchen setups. The boxes can also be filled with real sugar as a visual stand-in for historical accuracy.
