Nortag Kurs (tin box)

This accurate replica of a tobacco tin bears the name Nortag Kurs and features a design typical of German fine-cut oriental tobacco packaging from the 1930s and 40s. The striking image of a steamship sailing the open seas evokes the distant origins of the oriental tobaccos often imported for such blends. The inscription “Ein heller duftiger Feinschnitt mit Orienttabaken” (“a light aromatic fine cut with oriental tobaccos”) highlights the blend’s refined quality and its appeal to smokers with a taste for milder, fragrant tobacco.

The tin served as a practical way to store tobacco under field conditions, especially for officers and NCOs with access to premium rations. Its colorful design also played a role in propaganda and fostering consumer identity. Today, this replica is a fitting accessory for Wehrmacht or Kriegsmarine reenactors, as well as a period-accurate prop for films or WWII exhibitions.

Landtabak Spezial (paper pack)

This replica of a WWII-era paper tobacco pouch, labeled Landtabak Spezial, reflects the minimalist and utilitarian packaging used for tobacco distributed to both military personnel and civilians. The producer, “Austria Tabakwerke A.G. - Österreichische Tabakregie,” was a real state-controlled monopoly in Nazi-occupied Austria.

Containing 50 grams of grobschnitt (coarse-cut) tobacco, it was mainly used for hand-rolled cigarettes or pipe smoking. This kind of tobacco was a common item in soldiers’ kits and often served as barter material. The paper packs were consumed quickly and soldiers frequently transferred the contents to personal tins or containers.

This replica is perfect for historically accurate depictions of everyday life during WWII - ideal for reenactment, film, or museum displays. The pouch can be filled with modern loose tobacco, making it a fully functional prop.
