A reproduction of a wooden clothes hanger with a metal hook, featuring historical markings such as “Heeres-Eigentum” or period-correct symbols. The inscription is burned directly into the wood using a branding iron, just like original military-issued items from World War II. Made from solid hardwood, it is ideal for hanging uniforms, trousers, coats, or gear.
These types of hangers were commonly used in barracks, officer quarters, supply depots, or field command posts. Soldiers used them to hang their clothing, and the “Heeres-Eigentum” marking indicated that the item was army property. Such hangers were often assigned to individual lockers or rooms, especially for NCOs and officers.
The label “Heeres-Eigentum” (“Army Property”) was regularly branded into military furniture and gear – not only hangers, but also chairs, crates, tables, and lockers. It helped identify official inventory items. Today, such a hanger is both a practical and visually authentic addition to reenactment settings, display rooms, or collections.
