Pocket mirrors were a common accessory among soldiers during World War II – whether as part of their hygiene kit or as a practical daily tool. These reproductions replicate several authentic styles used both at the front lines and in rear-area units.
Variants:
- Advertising mirror from W. Kern (GUNTERSBLUM), featuring a clock and jeweler/optician details – a typical civilian or military promotional item.
- Nordmark uniform mirror – showing soldier’s gear, used as a branded accessory.
- Warning mirror – with the inscription “Vorsicht bei Gesprächen – Feind hört mit!” (“Be careful when you talk – the enemy is listening!”) – a classic war slogan promoting information security. In a paper wrapper with the inscription “Ein kleiner Dank des Führers an seine Soldaten” (“A small thank you from the Führer to his soldiers”) – a reproduction of presentation items dedicated to wounded or returning soldiers.
- Standing mirror – suitable for infirmaries, field hospitals, or command posts.
These mirrors were also included in Red Cross packages, military canteen offerings, or gift sets. A great addition for reenactment, period displays, or personal gear sets.
