A reproduction of the original German pudding powder by Dr. Oetker, used during the Second World War. This type of food item was a common part of Wehrmacht supplies. The powder was packed in small paper sachets with a simple preparation guide.
Part of Wehrmacht field kitchens, especially in rear areas or larger army kitchens. It was served as a dessert after the main meal, often on special occasions when ingredients like milk or sugar were available. Due to its sweet taste and ease of preparation, it helped soldiers maintain morale under harsh conditions.
To prepare the pudding, the contents of the sachet were mixed with approximately 500 ml of milk (or water) and briefly boiled. One packet content 4–6 portions. The original price was 8 pfennigs.
Surviving wartime packages of pudding powder are now sought-after historical artifacts and are popular among reenactors and collectors of authentic Wehrmacht gear.
